...with multiple back up storage systems....IMO, of course....

You can't get a better backup than what is built into ntap's end to end solution. Inherently multiple backup. Also...you can use the tapes as catastrophy backup....take them off once a week and store in an excellent vault. Somebody could make a lot of money turning a cave into such a vault..renting space in it.

I think you've got something there. Things are different now, and not better. One new thing is, a lot of people are going to realise that any big concentration of people or information is a potential target, and it is very hard to stop a suicidal attacker. The (partial) solution is dispersed systems, dispersed information storage, multiple redundancies; a net with many small nodes, rather than a hierarchy with a (vulnerable) apex. Some of the businesses in the WTC had data backed up in other cities. Some didn't. Apparently, the SEC enforcement office in the WTC lost a huge amount of critical information on ongoing investigations, and it's gone forever. When they rebuild, I'll bet they use more storage than they used before, or had planned to use.

Won't help the stock price on Monday. I've cancelled all my limit buy orders, in case we plunge. But I'll be watching, with my finger poised over the "buy" button. No shorts, and no plans for shorts.
