Elmer, thread, Bob Brinker had 3 guests on his show today (first 3 ever). One was SEC Chairman Harvey Pitt, who answered a Brinker quetsion that had been posed by a caller earlier. Caller had asked if trading would be "normal", or if shorting or anything else would be restricted. Pitt said no restrictions; the attempt would be to allow all trading that normally is allowed. The only caveat he had was that trade imbalances would be carefully managed, but those take place in the course of normal markets anyway. They tested the markets' infrastructure, including networks out to brokers, etc., and it's all systems go for 9:30 a.m. Monday.
