I say democracy should be the goal in Saudi Arabia ...and all Islamic nation-states. This rule by their Royals is absurd . Faisal , I have heard is demented ...time for the little men to grow up and let go of their little god "Allah" a bit , retain their culture and ethics , but offer the people more voice in self government and democratic process. What they fear the most , like fundamenatalists here is the secular threat to their "divine" power and duty , which is the source of much of the insanity , imo.

Perhaps we could lock them up and have a recording of the Bible piped into their cells 24-7. Well, maybe interspersed with sermons by the Pope, Falwell, Graham, Cotton Mather, and others. Only visits permitted would be visits by Jehovahs Witnesses and Mormons missionaries. After a year or two of this I think they would prefer death.
