Hi goldworldnet; Re the opportunity to contribute. I agree completely. And it's the attitude that we must take in the rebuilding that will shortly follow the gunfire.

We are strong, there are no stronger. Therefore, we can contribute more than anyone else.

Those who must always explain things in "chemical" terms can call it a "potlatch".

Unless you think that serial killers and peace corp workers are making equal contributions I can't see how you can say that. A child, born into a dysfunctional home, beaten their whole life, who turns to violence, doesn't seem to be very filled with potential- although I suppose this person gives lots of other people the "opportunity" to aid his or her victims.

Let's take a Palestinian suicide bomber. A child born into a large poor family, growing up throwing rocks at soldiers, growing up inculcated to hate, urged by friends and family to take the opportunity to go straight to heaven by strapping on some explosives and blowing up some Jews, and let's not forget the cash payments E mentioned for the families. What potential does that child have- mostly negative? Potential depends on opportunity and ingredients- it is the inherent ability or capacity for growth, development, or coming into being- and that is NOT equal for all people. It is obviously not equal for all people.
