not only is there the psychological factor to consumer spending, there is also the possibility of rising prices. have you factored in the possibility of rising material costs glenn?

Craig,

I can tell you with certainty consumer spending came to a halt since last Tuesday. I do not know if people were so focused ont he news they never left their house or if they are so afraid of the future they will not spend.

I am anticipating a huge rise in certain commodity items such as gold and oil due to a variety of factors. I do not now know if a rise in the cost of commodities will effect that many people from an economic point of view. A lot has to do with which commodities and how great the price increase may be.

I placed my money where my mouth is. I bought a lot of gold this week. Not the stock but the actual bullion as a hedge against a slowdown in the demand in my business.
