The Taliban does not want the violence. They love violence ... they have been dealing with violence all their lives. They don't have to do it themselves anyway ... they are always safe ... they get some poor schmuck who thinks he'll get 70 virgins to do the dirty work. History has proven you promise a guy 70 virgins and he'll kick the Russians ass right out of the country. Lola:)

The Taliban does not want the violence. You've got to be kidding. What about the accelerated nuclear weapons program running in Iran, birthplace of this Islamic fundamentalism. What about the nuclear and biological weaponry at work in Iraq. What about the thousands of dedicated fundamentalists trained and nurtured by Bin Laden and others over the years. Do you think their fanaticism will just fade away? They are not just in Afganistan, they are scattered all over the world and any one of these individuals has the potential to terrorize us again. This is a war against an ideology not an individual or a state.
