They probably wouldn't let you down that far, but yes, down to 14th Street or whatever the current perimeter is. To witness, to confront the reality, to testify, to participate somehow, whatever.

I am sorry about your friends in Nyack, that is quite some distance to be feeling the effects....As it happens, this summer I took the Circle Line boat for the first time since I was a child, and got my best look at the downtown skyscrapers from the harbor. No photo, but an added memory to contrast with the rubble.....
