If this worked ... and I'm not sure that it can, but suppose for the sake of argument that it did -- what would be the net result??

The net result would be to accelerate any decline, of course. Shorts cover as the market drops all along the way and tend to slow and smooth the descent -- if these patriotic folk buy and could successfully prevent shares from being borrowed -- what stems a further slide when they are done buying and more longs sell.

The lack of logic shown by this poster just goes to show there individuals participating in the markets that know nothing about how they work. Most of them don't even know about the downtick rule ... the decline next week may be worse than any of us can imagine -- if this attitude is as prevalent as some of the boards indicate.
