Welcome back Ike..... read you article in the Iranian and then checked the thread. You are a wise man....

Do you think the Jihad expected Pakistan to choose the side with the US? Did they maybe not expect the US to use the 'choose side first' tactic?

These groups are smart and I know they are always thinking a few steps ahead. I wonder if they counted on Pakistan?

Ike,

I have followed your posts over the last several years
and I commend you for your balanced approach to the
disparity between Christian, Jewish and Islamic
value systems.

For several years I have had Moslim friends with whom I
have conversed and compared various Christian beliefs
with those of Islam. I was gratified to realize we all
value human existence -- we cherish the life of each and
every child of God or Allah. Furthermore, my Moslim
friends made me realize the seeming enmity between
Jew, Christian and Taliban type Moslem is unnaceptable
to true Islamic beliefs and should be labelled as false.

Is there a way in which we can begin a massive public
relations and educational program to make the world know
that the Taliban and Bin Laden do not represent the
true beliefs of Islam?

Personally, I am very distressed by the reluctance of
various Moslem states to make clear their support or lack
of support for militant Islamic sects. Why does the Moslem
community tolerate the distortion of Islamic beliefs by
the Taliban and people such as Bin Laden? I see too many
countries in that part of the world reluctant to make a
clear statement on what they believe. It seems to me
that Syria, Iraq, Iran and Egypt may be cowards. Why don't
they condemn the Talibani regime in Afghanistan?

Are the Jews in Israel so terrible? Is the presence of
US military in Saudi Arabia, with the acceptance of the
Saudi government, so terrible? I know some of the Americans
over there and they did not bring in their bibles in
deference to Saudi demands. What more can they do while
working to protect Saudia Arabia? Why don't their coastal defense systems discourage vessels that want to invade Egypt?

Why can't we all live in peace? We need a propoganda radio
station, such as the Voice of America used to be, to make
millions of people know about the differences between the
true Islamic beliefs of the Koran, and the distortions
perpetrated on us by the Taliban and Palestinian sects.

Why can't all of God's children and those under Allah live
in peace with each other?

You have an opportunity here to make clear a means to resolve much of the enmity and misunderstanding between Americans and those of near east origin. Many Arabs are actually Christians. Many of my friends are of Moslim belief. We all get along. Why can't the rest of the world?

How do we get rid of the terrible Taliban regime in
Afghanistan and enable Afghanis to live in peace and
allow them to each work out their own way
to improve their lives?

We must rid the world of the Taliban influence, both
in Afghanistan and other Islamic countries such as
Pakistan and Iran and Iraq and Egypt.

Thanks for your help.

Ike, glad you are back. I have been walking around with a feeling of emptiness inside my heart since the destruction. Nothing seems important anymore since this awful tragedy has taken place. My spirit has disappeared. We all need to come together. I've lost interest in the market. It seems so unimportant after what has happened.
