Pirates, et al

Ray:

OK, one last response this evening.

Today, it's the Straits of Molucca that the pirates occupy.

Actually, its the Straits of Malacca, but, Phucket, who's counting anyway? ;-)

[What? Hint: Ask Aggie.]

Though your attitude about the missile defense system sucks.

Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment. <g>

[reason SS couldn't recruit anymore]... terrible fertility rate coupled with the attrited... [reason Japanese warlords couldn't recruit anymore]... It was fuel.

Is that your final answer, or would you like to use a lifeline? :-O

This permanent war footing results in way too much collateral damage, from Middleton, CO to Springfield, OR we are spawning a nation of jerks.

Being serious for a moment, IMVHO, if we don't kill these terrorist networks pretty quickly, then the Middleton and Springfield tragedies will eventually dissolve into simple footnotes in history.

It may come as a disappointment to you, but there was never a moment in that incident when I felt that it was my right, privelege, duty or obligation to have a firearm to destroy these kaffirs... Did I feel that it was my place to eradicate them because they saw me as the enemy? Hardly.

Rising to the bait. Excellent. Ray, please show the participants on this thread the exact text in my statement that said anything about "destroy" or "eradicate"? The exact text. Show us.

I find it quite interesting that you automatically assumed that the mere presence of a weapon meant that it was intended to destroy or eradicate others rather than to simply protect the carrier?!? (Things that make you go, "Hmmm...")

(did I mention I'm more articulate than our el presidente, that tin horn?)

No, but then I understand the passivist in you wouldn't want me to spew coke out of my nostrils for fear of choking me to death with laughter. <vbg^3>

[Sorry. Couldn't resist. You walked right into that one.]

[pirates off the Barbary Coast]... Dood, I'm part of the Hanna-Barbera generation. Don't expect me to have a clue as to what you are referring to.

OK, here's some overnight reading for your perusal...

1. Barbary Wars

2. Instances of Use of United States Forces Abroad, 1798 - 1993

Enjoy!
