True. We could withdraw right now and all start riding bicycles. Not sure what we'd use to power the tractors that the farmers use, though. Wind? Hmmm. And all those petroleum products that we use to make fertilizer and plastics and pharmaceuticals - what would we replace them with? Well, it's easier than fighting a war, you say. And who cares what it will do to the economy of the ordinary people in the Middle East. We shouldn't try to get rid of the bad guys. Once we leave, the bad guys will turn into good guys.
