Fanaticism is fanaticism whether its religious, nationalist or PC oriented. The fanatic seeks to make everyone the same and cannot tolerate an opposing view. Communism is a fanatical view of the world because it believes that all must comply. Certain religious groups also share that view. The world always sees the rise of fanatical ideas and movements. Freedom of speech and the ability to read opposing views is critical to preventing that rise.
I see no difference in the attack on freedom of speech from the McCarthy era or the PC era. One has ended now the other must also.
