I read in an alternative paper in Silicon Valley, following the Iraq/Kuwait incident, that Iraq had told the US it planned to invade Kuwait and hearing nothing to the contrary back, thought it had a green light to do so. Prior to that Iraq had good US relations as an ally against Iran.

I think if we can't find at least three sides of every disagreement, we aren't looking hard enough.

I worry about the concept of Puppet Masters running the show with motivations very difficult to discern to J12P. The only thing I can do is look at actions and results, and try to discern who benefits. Hence the 'Follow the money' mantra.
