Searle, Searle, Searle, yes there is such an obvious paper trail that one might wonder why the terrorists were so careless about such things. However, keep in mind that there is no "glory" in anonymity. Remember the '93 WTC bombing? One of the terrorists tried to get a deposit back on the "stolen" van he had rented that blew up in the WTC parking ramp. The clerk at the car rental place told him it would be a little while for the paper work--a little while until they could get a cop at the scene. I don't think these people need anyone to hypnotize them to be lame...they just naturally are. Everything they do is stupid. Let me respond to your premise as if true. Israel? They could become caught up in another war and get a few thousand scuds dumped on them before this is over. New York has the the highest Jewish population of any city in the world. X them out as suspects. China? Revenge for the bombing of their embassy--Clinton's stupid act? This will cost them too much money; if we ever suspected them we and half the rest of the world would embargo them and point every missile we had at them. Cost would be too high. Of course, the cost was too high for Japan in WWII I suppose. It's actually scary to think the Chinese did it. I'll give you this much--it is an easy crime to slough the blame off to someone else for. Either way, I'd still prefer to see Bin Laden's head on a pike on the Capitol gate. The anti-Christ and the devil perhaps? Can't think of anyone else. Keep in mind many mass murderers are characterized as being "quiet." And parents are usually shocked when their kids get into this kind of thing.
