Now, things are different. Remember WWII, Roosevelt wanted to join the allies, but could not garner the political support to do so. After Pearl Harbor the entire Country got behind the war. My Mother in Law who lived through Pearl Harbor, says the nation's attitude was exactly the same then. As an example, last night I attended a concert and the crowd spontaneously broke into a chant USA, USA, USA,USA. I believe that this Country is ready to do whatever must be done and to suffer whatever losses must be borne to end terroism. I beleive that people do understand that if we don't act now, the next time the terrorism could be anthrax or a nucelar bomb. In the end we lost as many people in one day as we did in one year in Viet Nam. This point is not lost on the American people. Our people would prefer to go about their lives, raise their families and become prosperous, but on those rare occasions when our people are aroused to war, we are capable of anything. I believe that many leaders in the Islamic World realize they have awakened the "sleeping giant". Look at their statements. They now fear us. Unfortunately, for them, many of the rank and file do not understand that things have changed and foolishly are doing things which will provoke American and will pressure their leaders to act against the interests of America. This will be the cause of much blood shed, I am sad to say. Little joe
