The best way (imo) to break confidence and will, is to be effective. We should do whatever it takes to be effective. If kicking corpses killed Bin Ladin's men I could kick corpses- they are dead, and we- and the boys we will send to die on foreign soil- are the living. That is just my opinion. I won't say you are wrong- I don't have that kind of chutzpah- I merely have a different way of looking at things.

>>>While there is something to the idea that terrorists wish to cause polarization, the main aim of terrorism is the aim of all warfare: to break the will of the enemy to resist. Retaliation should be tailored accordingly: to show that we intend to fight back, and to break their confidence and will...........

And of course lying to our people and reversing our policies WRT the most fundamental basis for our resistance with some wrong headed notion that it gives "tactical" advantage would do just that.

It would in fact dissolve our unity.

In the words of uncle Clint: Look at them in the eyes and kick their balls, as they bend over in pain, we cut off their heads.

Spare the compassion for our own casualties.

I agree.
