I must emphatically disagree about this being "Vietnam like".
Those of us who listened to our parents know that compared to
WWII Vietnam was just an expedition, although it did drag out.

Try to imagine what it was like fighting where the future of the
whole western world was truly at stake, not just in the minds
of the politicians and others bent on fighting Communism on all
fronts even where it didn't make sense.

It is my sense that this historical change is just beginning.
Unfortunately, I suspect that we have a long ways to go to see
just how bad things can get. I hope I am wrong !!!!!!!

So far it seems the Bush Adm. has been doing a good job of restraining themselves. This time is very usefull to build a coalition, to lay the ground work with the US public that this will not be like the War with Iraq or Vietnam and to figure out exactly how to proceed.

I think the folly of our efforts behind Vietnam has made to many people cynical.

We should be prepared to ensure all allies are willing to make the hard choices, France, Italy business with Iran & Libya. The Swiss who hide in their mountain protected enclave and help hide the money for mass murderers, etc. When the bomb doors open on the B-52's I am sure there is more than one US citizen who has aided with managing the funds and who should be flying with the first volley.
