You are mixing the two up. Killing for self defense is what is being pondered, not killing for values. We may sell it as killing for "values" but we are killing because we were attacked. IF we were killing for values we could have killed them before the attack, and we weren't pondering that- because we don't kill for values. We knew what values they had before the attack, and that they were antithetical to ours. PS- I'm not sure personal attacks on my values are really necessary and imo it weakens your argument.
