usually when debt gets that high, it isn't repaid anyway and so making it "official" is the only thing that is really changed.

So is that a ransom that Pakistan is asking or is the US bribing. Today on CNN, the Pakistani ambassador said that would support the US if the world supports US actions, thereby placing the onus on the US to seek world support first and then Pakistan's support next. Furthermore Pakistan would not join a International army force which would march into Afghanistan. Should the US be careful in committing US troops on the ground in Pakistan where the government does not provide unequivocal support. Or is the Govt. there at all in control?
