"Above all, Americans need to remember that the rest of the world has an absolute right to self-determination that is as defensible as our own. Despicable acts of mayhem such as those committed in New York and Washington are a measure of the revulsion that others feel at our actions that seemingly limit those rights. If we perpetuate a cycle of hate and revenge, this conflict will escalate into a war that our great-grandchildren will be fighting." Now I don't believe in absolutes, but take out that nasty "a" word, and I agree with him. We don't want to perpetuate revenge, but we need to try to get close to justice.

That is interesting. It is almost identical to what I've been saying from the get-go. Root causes anyone? We've got to address those. These aren't camps of German's in Algeria. These are diffuse and separated people who are in cells of people whom they have known for years. Not likely to infiltrate or subjugate that.
