Even Iran Sends Unprecedented Message to New York Mayor
dailynews.yahoo.com.
.

They are scrambling ...lines drawn and sides are being taken. The Iranians absolutely hate the Taliban and
Bin laden

Seems there's alot of very rapid " distancing"
going on from the Taliban and their little terrorist/murderer charge

Very prudent of them, at this juncture <gg>

Pakistan Presses Taliban to Hand Over Bin Laden

September 17, 2001 01:42 AM ET

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - A delegation of Pakistani officials has arrived in the southern Afghan city of Kandahar to try to persuade Taliban officials to hand over Saudi-born terror suspect Osama bin Laden, the Afghan Islamic Press said on Monday.

AIP said the delegation had immediately gone into a meeting with the Taliban's foreign minister and would meet spiritual leader Mullah Mohammad Omar later in the day.

Pakistan is trying to persuade the Taliban to hand over bin Laden -- chief suspect of Tuesday's devastating terror attacks on New York and Washington. The U.S. has vowed to punish the perpetrators and those who protect them.

Pakistan is one of only three countries to recognize the Taliban government.
