If that is the precedent, the US would be justified in invading 9 out of every 10 countries in the world, including Canada, Spain, Turkey, UK, Ireland. The resulting hostility of the Russia and China (among others)are perfectly logical to me. And yet, Joe, it would appear that you are ready to go after bin Laden on NO evidence. I mean, the best they have come up with so far is that two of the highjackers names indicate they are from Yemen. And it happens that bin Laden's father is originally from Yemen....talk about flimsy evidence. All this talk of war and going and stomping on Afghanistan and assassinating bin Laden is very worrisome....especially because I don't think bin Laden is the master mind behind tues. attack. What is clear is that bin Laden wants us out of Islam affairs.....by staging tues. attacks, he insures that we will become more involved. No one can convince me he is stupid enough to think that attacking us will send us home with our tail between our legs. Hussein or Aldafi are insane enough for that kind of supposition but I don't think bin Laden is. And I think its critical to find out for sure who the right person for another reason. If we assassinate bin Laden and there is no evidence that he is directly guilty, we create the Islam martyr for the 21st century. One article indicated that bin Laden is both charismatic and humble, and I believe it. That's a wicked combo..think JFK, jr or Princess Diana. Killing these kind of people is asking for serious trouble. This need for concrete evidence I believe makes all out war pretty useless. Like I have said before, I think we need to get the sleepers out this country first. Hopefully, during this process, we will learn more about who is responsible for tues, and if we are real lucky, about other cells. Then we can go about quietly doing the dirty deeds needed to gain retribution, not revenge, but retribution. ted
