Did you ever hear of Wayne Morse and Ernest Gruening...the only 2 senators to vote against the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution (Vietnam)? That resolution is controversial to this day and Morse and Gruening look very wise in retrospect.

Not defending the lady but I think she objected based on the amount of power to make military commitments placed in the hands of the president.
