Hi Zeev - yes, I read a few pieces such as the following

of similar view. I think it would be a waste of time [& goodwill to the moderate Afghans] to bomb Kabul. Quite on the contrary, airlifting aid to the region as a gesture of goodwill to the suffering population, who has nothing to do with the extremists, may not be a bad idea!

Rather, if there is any attack, maybe it is more effective to go after Kandahar, where both the Taliban leadership and [rumor is that] ObL are located. I ve not the foggiest how fortified Kandahar is though --- geographically.

Also, it is reported that there are 6,000 extremists from other countries in Afgan. So, these are fair targets too. Unfortunately, my guess is that the US doesn't have too much "intelligence" about them

best, Bosco

Zeev, I wouldn't be surprised by a "Doolittle like" raid...intended mainly to deal with US morale more than an attempt to retaliate.

My guess, however, is that our best investment will be in financing and supporting the alliance that opposes the Taliban in Afghanistan. Moreover, we do have a $5M bounty on bin Laden's head. Sadly that needs another zero or two to become effective.

I am convinced that bin Laden's prospects are ultimately poor. The cost to effect his demise, however, will be significant both in dollars and lives.

Probably this article--

You can't bomb us back into the Stone Age. We're already there. But you can start a new world war, and that's exactly what Osama bin Laden wants

p.s. Fed just cut .50 BP's.
