Well. hello billwot. You have been silent for quite some time, a lot longer than I have been off. I did mention in one of my posts in July that we would probably be a lot busier again on this thread once the stocks would come out of their doldrums.

Well, this Tuesday's tragedy brought me out a lot sooner and Sonki took the plunge right afterwards. And now you. Yes, I thought that article in the Miami Herald did the trick.

I have to admit that I have been very lax on checking the thread lately or actually any thread. I still check all the news I can find on the net.

I guess you are also still in stocks since you are asking for a Globex link. I am still hanging in there but with a greatly diminished worth in my portfolio. I give you a link to Globex which I can access thru Msft Internet Explorer. I like my Communicator better but I have not been able to find the Globex site with that one. Here it is:

cme.com

That other link gives you a lot of info about Cme but no info on Globex. I am sure I will locate it soon. I have not tried very hard and luckily I also had this link on file. I hope it works for you. Remember that this one is on Msft Explorer.

About your reunion with your kids. Yes, I know what you mean. My daughter from Seattle visited us with her family in July, also my daughter and grandson from FLA. But my wife has no intention of going up into the air in the near future. We had planned on finally going back to Europe this September but this is def. out. Good thing we had not purchased our tickets yet. My nephews will be disappointed. But not 10 horses will get my wife on a plane right now.

Stocks overseas are down triple digits right now in fear of what will happen here later today. I probably just watch whatever happens and stay put. I don't like the prediction by some on where the NAS will evtl. go.

My friends are at the Outer Banks of NC right now. I guess you all got lucky with Gabrielle. Bad enough that there was a shark attack in Avon. Sheesh. I will have to watch my step next time I put my toes into the water there. We go a little further North to Waves/Rodanthe with our friends.
We may venture to FLA next month.

Good to hear from you. My wife kept long hours watching the TV day and night and that did not bode well for getting too much sleep. I was watching too but still tried to get some sleep but every so often she woke me up in the middle of the night with urgent news.

Sure hope everything will work out alright, including the market in the morning.

Sonny

billwot. If you click onto your link to the Globex site, I know that you get this oops phrase. But I guess you know that you can click onto cme further down. That's when you get all this info you may not necessarily need.

dailynews.yahoo.com

Who would have thought of a week like this. There will probably be a lot of strange bedfellows in the coming days or weeks or months. I guess we will not see a truly Globalization in our livetime.

This does not look too good but maybe we will do better.

billwot. Did you have any luck with the Globex link? Here is the latest quote from Globex:

cme.com

Some called todays action good but oh did it hurt. AOL is now at its lowest point this year. I had 2 stocks in the green. Nokia and Rambus.

The FED did cut the rate by 1/2 point, 1/4 point lower than some expected but more than most expected at least that it happened before the market opened. Talk about more FED cuts at the meeting on Oct.2.

I will check the thread again tomorrow to see if you got this message.
