<< I understand we are now in talks with the Afghan rebels. Who to know the country better? I am sure they have been in every nook and cranny. >>

That would be a great alliance, of mutual benefit. The Northern Alliance's leader, Ahmad Shah Massoud, just died, unfortunately. Hopefully there will be someone there to fill his shoes.

Up to now, nations like Pakistan have been afraid to battle terrorism, because they felt that the US, nor any other power, was committed to help. It is very interesting that Pakistan now says: "We regard terrorism as an evil that threatens the world community".

Let's not do to the Northern Alliance and Pakistan, what we did to the Kurds in Iraq. We would never get the support from Middle Eastern countries again.

There is hope! Among the sadness and anguish of Americans' great loss of life, there is hope of many nations of the world banding together to rid the world of terrorism. America cannot turn back now. We must not miss this opportunity.
