A few things of interest: First, Does anyone have a link for futures quotes? The link I had is not longer valid as of last week. Interesting Bin Laden links which helps us understand the mind, motivation, and connections behind the man: His declaration of war against Americans: geocities.com His political life: pbs.org A biography: pbs.org On another note, my wife gave birth to our son, Luke, last Saturday. His birth has been a wonderful blessing but every time I look at him I am reminded a two month old baby that was on one of the planes that crashed into the WTC. I have shed many tears and much time in prayer for these families that have experienced lost and for our nation's leadership. PS - Tom, Good to see you posting again. Zello

Not to divert you all but...just listening to Larry King, who had on some experts about biowarfare. Particularly anthrax which is deadly and easy to make and store. They said don't worry about the water--its unlikely. Worry about the air. Well you know how I LOVE antibiotics, right? I mean...my God...but I have lots of antibiotics left over from last summer. I hate to say this but I think all of us should have Cipro or Doxycycline or Penicillin on hand. If there is any chance of exposure to anthrax--and hey it could be this year or five years from now or never--but its a likely form of terrorism if things escalate--you have to take the crap for 4-8 weeks. Lovely. You have to take it before symptoms begin--once they start, you're as good as gone. Well, imagine if there was news of anthrax exposure (and spores go on the wind). Imagine the stampede to the pharmacies--they'd probably run out of antibiotics. Better to have them on hand. Here's an article about that: canoe.ca

I heard Senators and Congressmen from both parties talk about this new level of commitment to do what it takes to win this long, and sustained war that we just initiated. We have no choice and the country and the Congress realize that. We still are the wealthiest nation on the earth and we have the resources to get the job done. IMO, we do need new thinking and a new approach to: -The nature of security in the U.S. -What allies and friendly nations can do to partner with us -How we interface with nations abroad -Counter-Terrorism Efforts -Global Intelligence capabilities providing more real time info. and becoming more proactive and pre-emptive I heard an expert on The Middle East (and a Pullitzer Prize winning author who writes for the New York Times)....He was being interviewed on MSNBC over the weekend. He feels we need to launch the equivalent of A NEW MANHATTEN PROJECT to combat terrorism around the world. This would require recruiting THE BEST MINDS, THE BRAVEST SOLDIERS, and OUR MOST ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPERS. Senator John McCain was just interviewed on Fox News on Sunday and Tony Snow asked him if Congress and America would stay united for a long battle. He claims this unprecedented level of Bi-Partisan Unity will last a LONG time just like after Pearl Harbor. I tend to agree. THE GIANT HAS BEEN AWAKENED and there is no turning back now. The radical terrorists have provided a shocking and brutal wake-up call BUT they will never be safe again. This country is united and driven to go after them in an amazing way. Just my views. Tom, you have misread big picture ever since Oct99-Jan2k you nailed correctly the Y2K time event and its immediate aftermath since then, you have been LOUD and WRONG consistently your strong words, magnetic personality, congenial style, and convincing salesmanship are your biggest asset but you have misread the economy greatly and you misread the need for use of nuclear force here both in a very dangerous way fortunately, your influence among investors does not extend to military decision making good luck to you, my friend / Jim
