Polv,

i don't know who did this act (other than
about 20 dead guys). do you?

I'm told bin Laden is responsible.
The 20 dead guys aren't speaking much.
There's not many people more tight lipped than a dead terrorist.
I don't think we could prosecute them anyway.

if so, how
do you know?

Our government is telling me what they know to be true.
The newspapers have been telling me the same thing.
While I may not have believed them before, I'm willing to take their word for it this time.

and are you sure?

Pretty sure.

and are you willing to kill some innocents along
with them?

Innocents were killed in WWII.
Does that mean that we should not have entered the war?
Should we have not accepted Japan's invitation to fight them and fight the Nazis?

how do you want to kill them?

I personally would like to choke each and every one of those rat bastards. Choke their last breath of air out of them with my bare hands.
Watch the emotion disappear from their face.
It's probably more humane than some of the other thoughts of torture that run through my brain.
But that is because I'm still hot about this.
Not thinking completely rational about it.
I know that choking the life out of one of them or out of 100 of them is not going to make me feel better or bring back my friend. It won't bring back those firemen that went into the burning buildings trying to rescue innocent people.

But at least I would have the slightest satisfaction of knowing that particular f*cker would not be able to harm any more of my friends or family.

i know some good people all over the world.
you won't kill any of them will you?

I hope not. I'll pray for them.
Hopefully we succeed in our attempt at keeping ourselves safe in the future without harming too many innocents.
Hopefully that will remain the focus of this war.
I pray the focus doesn't change.
Because it will be our children fighting for us. And they will continue to need to know that there is a purpose. That they are defending our home so we may live in freedom.
Freedom from fear. Freedom from terrorist attacks. Freedom from the chaos they wish to have us live in.

i need to know before i give you the go ahead

Well? How 'bout it?

I tried to answer your rhetorical questions the best I could while maintaining that I (probably) know where you are coming from.
Part of me feels the way you do about this. But it is clearly outweighed by the part of me wanting to protect my peace loving brothers and sisters around the world.
If we wait longer, the weapons will get more horrific.

Should we wait longer until bin Laden walks up to us with his hands in the air to give himself up?
Should we wait longer to try to find out if this was done by someone else besides bin Laden even though bin Laden is a leader of terrorism?

Respectfully,

-Clapperino
