What if indeed Bin Laden does surrender himself? What would America do then? Is there really a case that could stand in any tribunal? Would he be executed? Would a live Bin Laden protected by law or maybe even dismissed actually be an asset? Would delivering himself into the lion's den and his walking out alive or staying alive not enhance his power among the Islamics further? Would such impunity not be a dangerous liability? Isn't the real goal of any military adventure to see him dead? What if he dies while in our hands?

With him dead can't al Qaeda function without him anyway? And maybe even find better prospects for recruitment with an infamous martyred icon as a figurehead with a many headed virtually anonymous directorate?? Who might we go after then? Or would we delude ourselves in thinking we had won because we cut the flower from the plant leaving the rest intact and firmly rooted?
