Coug,

I'd tried for ten years to analytically predict the stock market. I failed. I am a good signal processing guy. I consider it problem in dynamics that is too difficult (for the reasons you mention) . Understanding the world in game theory is like any other theory, right? It has limitations and applicability, and, like any theory, is imperfect.

You are right. These words mean nothing when the rubber hits the road. We will have to learn what is what through the old fashion method: "wait and see". If you hear something like thunder, you probably shouldn't think asteroid impact, but don't rule it out.

Status quo is the defacto law of the land. It is law with all prior charges beyond the statute of limitations. If you are living somewhere now, that is where you are. Trying to move everyone around on the chessboard is something, that if we have to do it, we do it carefully. In what game do you know the endgame? It is always a bit of a guess, ain't it?

Here are some interesting situations that we'll have to discuss some time. I don't have any absolute answers:

1. Resident alien green-card holder. Detain or deport? What rights do they have? My friend suggested automatic hearings for green-card holders. Can you single out Mid-Easterners? They don't have complete rights? How much latitude?

2. Recent naturalized citizen of Afghani ancestry. Detain, question? Do you let them know in advance? Do you pretend they pose no risk and defend their personal rights first?

These are hard questions.
