tekboy, in your study of this situation and as you collect data on other countries consider these thoughts. i have seen Americans fight. though i believe this situation may get worse before it gets better... when the situation is the grimmest, when all hope seems lost, when death appears easy and inevitable, Americans always muster up another spark of courage and fortitude. we have a unique ability to perceive and execute a successful counterattack and recovery from the deepest depths of despair. this applies both on the battlefield and in business. we have seen it again and again from the great depression to the many recessions, from san juan hill to the hills of iwo to hill 875. we will take some more lumps on the battlefield and in the boardrooms but the solidarity i see displayed in America this weekend convinces me that the world has not begun to see our true grit. friday night, i was in a blowing rock, NC restaurant. at 7pm the entire staff and all the customers paused for a moment of remembrance followed by a gentlemen saying, "God Bless America." all present cheered. the American flag is prominently displayed by nearly every local business, on most of my neighbors' homes and on many autos. folks at church yesterday, both men and women, wore American flag lapel pins. the solidarity and public displays of unity from our congressional leadership is astounding. the old days of partisan bickering seem so insignificant now. one week ago, none of us could imagine a 99.9% congressional vote for anything. the executive branch is doing a masterful job preparing to defend us and our way of life. our military is ready and will do whatever is asked. intense training and preparation is the order of the day. our special operations guys are trained specifically for this kind of job. the task is tailor made for them. the troops have confidence in our new leaders and will make us proud...have no doubt about that. the very fundamental framework of our freedoms is at stake. our leaders know it. the troops know it. our neighbors know it. we know it. all are willing to fight to stay free. the wanton slaughter of our innocent and defenseless men, women and children will not be allowed to stand. America will fight and prevail...again. unclewest
