They didn't wait because the market was already expecting at least .5, so if they waited for the crash to start and cut .5, the market would have yawned and continued crashing. Now they got the .5 out of the way, so if the market starts crashing they can do a "surprise" additional cut and hopefully slow down or reverse it.

yep, this was very dumb. it frankly frightens me that so many want to try and "prop up" this pig. don;t these morons understand how vulnerable this bubble has made us??? any attempt to perpetuate in the face of increasingly poor fundamentals only gives our enemies the chance to take the other side of the trade and further strengthen themselves. we cannot fight reality. it makes me furious that this country is populated by so many fools.
