Amy, I heard Jack Welch speak to Leslie Stall on 60 Minutes last night. I think he said it best when he was talking about the U.S. economy. Speaking about how it was the greatest economy in the world, he said, "Where else would you put your money?"

I can see a bounce back later this week. I can't imagine the Nasdaq staying at 1600 for much longer. The Dow only opened down 0.5%

Yes it's not too bad so far (indexes down 5% to 7% as I write). We will probably need at least a couple of days for the market to discount all the current information. Then you have the events subsequent to the tragedy that will also have to be discounted, could be good and bad things.

The best news for the market, IMHO, is that the market is open and trading, a demonstration that our institutions can't be shut down by a handful of vicious people.
