the reaction of stock-bulls is somewhat understandable, IMO. They have been spoon-fed the idea that America is strong == strong stock prices and 401k's that appreciate by 15 - 20% a year. The result is very sad -- the media and the Fed and now even the executive branch of govmnt all serving wall street interests to separate the small investor from even more funds during this tragedy. It is very disheartening. My wife was in the grocery store the other day and heard a local lady say -- "well, you know how those Armenians are ..." TV has dumbed at least two generations down. My son recently asked my wife why he has to study geography -- he likes math and reading? I am looking forward to teaching him many things -- so much is left out in the public schools. It's no wonder two whole generations have been confused by television.
