Having invested or traded some of the airlines and Boeing over the last 30 years I can tell you with conviction that the airlines are facing their worst crisis in their history.

We are going to need a bailout or at least some short term government loans to save this industry. A lot of these carriers are over leveraged.

Boeing is going lower and should be a good trade at some point in the future. The defense side will buttress the company in the long run but the commercial side is gonna take a severe hit for a few years at least.

If the airline business just gets a 20% decline in passenger traffic over historical levels this would be a knife in a few of the larger carriers not to mention the smaller ones.

Alaska is one of the few "best" run and capitalized airlines. LOV is the other one.

P.S. Boeing could become an incredible buy in the next 6 months. Time will tell.....

I just hope we don't have another terrorist attack in the next few weeks. That would really put fear into the markets with already damaged confidence.
