To their credit the Arab Sheikhs have agreed not to short sell into this market. They have US $25 Billion riding on U.S. stocks. To short a stock you sell what you don't own into the market betting the price will go down and then replace it at a lower price to cover your account. The more panic that creates the better. The difference between your sell price and your buy price is your profit. As long as you have the equity in your long accounts the sky is the limit to the amount of damage you can do. It is the most despicable form of profiteering during these days.
