<<Just for a second pretend your a clown who happens to be out of gold shares right now. Would you buy now and if so what?>>

I would buy, but not today. I'd look to accumulate on weakness over the next 6-8 weeks. It'll take a little while for the massive pump-a-thon we just witnessed to filter into the economy. I'd look for unhedged producers, HGMCY, NEM, GG, and GOLD are my faves. I think gold is likely starting a major secular bull here, and it's one of the few places left to hide (others being health care and timberland REITS and high dividend oil tanker plays).

Disclosure: I'm long just about everything I mentioned in this post (except no REITS yet).

I'd buy MDG, the lowest cost unhedged producer out there. As PAPF said, averaging in over the next few weeks is the safest way to play it as the POG gets demonized by the media. I wouldn't wait beyond the first week of Oct. as
quarterly mufu statements start getting mailed around the
5th.
