That doesn't wash with the notion that we woke up to a new America last week, and how it changed everything. I held a small position in one company that produced parts for jet engines (PCP) -- down 24% currently. A lot of people won't be interested in flying to or being at Disney, and they are down over 15%. Why would anybody besides an ostrich like them (and a thousand others) as much today as last Monday?

The cut was needed anyway. So why toast nerves more until Oct 2 ??? The FED failed badly since 1998 so what else is new ??

Just see my posts over the years about the FED

Perception has changed. Can you imagine spending 8 billion dollars to build an advanced semi fab, only to have it blown up? How can capital expenditures continue to be made in an environment where security cannot be assured? No- delay the expenditure, extract what value existing facilities can provide, until they meet their demise.

Will this mean a cure for Cancer is delayed?

This is the bleak side of what the terrorists propose.
