I didn't have any trouble selling the rest of my LEAP puts on the Dow, at a price of my choosing. I may regret it tomorrow and the next day and the next day. But although I put very little faith in technical indicators, the 40+ VIX does reflect panic, and I am uneasy about not nailing down my profits. Still have tons of BEARX in our IRAs.

Bid/ask spread - I think that some of the market makers for options have reduced capital, and need to make some money - so there is a less competitive environment, and wide spreads.

Makes me wonder about possible counterparty failure come expirations - but I am hoping the FED will finance the Options Clearing Corp...

If the option writers make money this week, I expect spreads to start to narrow by the middle of next week.
