In my view barriers to entry are but one factor in the analysis of sustainable competitive advantage. But, in any case, what do they have to do with morality?

There are examples of great innovation in every sector, and their effects are particularly strong in industries that are considered to be mature. Examples: Nucor pioneering minimills in the steel industry; Southwest Airlines pioneering low cost point-to-point air travel. In each of these cases investors were rewarded handsomely as were employees and consumers. How can you find competitive advantage in an entire industry? That would seem to be an impossibility to me.
