Knives that are in carry on could be taped to the torso.

Knives are ineffective when the cabin is full of sleeping gas!! The only thing that is effective is a gas mask.. Hard to tape a gas mask to your torso without someone taking notice..

As far as the rest of your arguments.. People must be willing to accept basic changes in the way things used to be.. A people unwilling to do so, are only inviting further attacks...

I've got the perfect solution. Allow everyone to carry as many weapons on board as they wish.

Think any terrorists will survive grandmothers packing .357 magnums? Turn airliners into the OK Corral if anyone misbehaves.

No alcohol, however, could be served.
