His columns appear to remarkable for their lies and distortions.

If you want to believe David Horowitz (who seems to be grinding some serious ax).

Also the interview you cited was from 1969......if any of us are old enough to remember some of our idealism from that period, we all probably thought and said things that would be embarrassing to us today?
