Haim, i believe awareness of the complexities of the region is higher in Europe than in the US...it's not something i can prove, this statement is based only on my own observations. whether that will do any good is a different question...i have an eerie feeling of unreality myself, on a purely instinctual level i believe that things could get out of hand completely before long. otoh, there has been this surge of solidarity with the US across ideological barriers, so there is also a spark of hope, however small.
