Historically private software companies have mostly sold for 1-3X sales except for special situations. So, it is really just coming into what would be considered fair value for software companies. Public companies usually got a bigger value because people paid outrageous prices for them. But, for people who were buying an entire company and expect to make money on it, 1 to 3 time sales has always been in the ballpark.
