John: Patriotism can be a misplaced word sometimes. In this market the true patriotism is saying p/es of even 20 is not acceptable. IBM started looking more and more attractive. CPQ better get absorbed by HP before it gets delisted. It is already getting close to non-marginable. Hopefully managements will realize corporations are not supposed to be their personal cash cows. Irrational exuberance may be retreating, but irrational thinking is not.
