Every country will apply their own conditions on support of US anti-terrorism plans. I am sure Powell is being told by the entire range of the political spectrum to modify our internal and external policies if we want to limit terrorism worldwide. I doubt the we will reduce our basic freedoms we cherish like freedom of speech and religous tolerance. However, driving a 4000-5000 lb SUV's and extensive leisure air travel on cheap fares vs not doing these things is going to be directed reflected in GDP numbers over the next year. The only part of the well thought out Bin laden message I can partly relate to is his statement that Saudia Arabic et al are selling their futures away by allowing us to buy as much cheap oil our gluttonous lifestyle requires.
