Hi Yiwu - if you have a link to the post about the US "helping the Taliban" please post it. I know we assisted Afghanistan years ago when it was fighting the Soviet Union, as it then was. At that time, there was no Taliban. Most of the people whom we aided have had to leave Afghanistan and many of them now live here in the US. I once represented one of the former Mayors of Kabul. His family are refugees, but they remain hopeful of returning someday.

I think we may give covert aid to anti-Taliban Afghanistan groups.

I believe that we do give humanitarian aid to widows and orphans and other needy people in Afghanistan.

The US armed the Taliban with Stinger missiles to fight the Russians.
