There is no permanent peace until we are all dead; for now, there is carrying on and survival, the survival of our own global superamacy (ie. our ability to decide our own fate), and the survival of the state of Isreal. That is also why unless and until the arab nations give up their dreams of driving the Isrealis into the Med, the Arab world will remain divided and undemocratic. The meek royal heads with little love from their own people and subsidized by the oil money are in the best of the interests of the US and Isreal. Educated men like OBL himself probably has some inkling of the reality as well. It's up to them to decide whether they should give up on the violent nationalism or forever condemned to the losing side and get periodically culled. Jim
