Hi Harry:

Regarding the storage sector, exclusive of last weeks events, from listening to the cc's I expected this quarter to be flat to down 10% sequentially. I expected the December quarter to be up 10% sequentially from the Sept. quarter.

QLGC has been cutting prices to clear out inventory. Granted it may not be in the stock price but I've always liked QLGC management (although I don't like the pro forma adjustment to sales regarding the ancr/sunw warrant agreement, rather they follow gaap on this one) and feel its a solid company in the storage space (it will be the forward guidance and it depends if the street feels the bottom is in vs. management indicating it is). I like emlx, brcd, qlgc and then zoox as a pure gamble (under $1.5).

EMLX, JNIC & QLGC (HBA) will compete fiercely but I feel the whole sector will grow in the 4th, 1st and 2nd qtrs) and they will grow with it (by 2nd quarter, 1st qtr reporting, maybe the competition comes more into play and it will be time to move out of the sector).

BRCD, QLGC, INRANGE, MCDT compete on the switches. I like BRCD & QLGC in this space. Nothing against inrange I just don't know enough about them (qlgc from ancr licenses technonlogy to them). I actually don't like mcdt although the whole space should grow.

VRTS - Like the software angle.

EMC - I don't own any but @ this price one would think its a good buy. IBM and Hitachi have been the main problem for emc this year, more so than the tech slowdown.

NAT & STOR - don't know enough on these two.

Don't forget LSI has a strong storage division which competes and does well in this space, a bunch of ex emc guys.

A big concern will be the HWP/CPQ deal. Guaranteed to cause disruptions in these two companies which can adversely impact all the companies but especially zoox.
