This is the same as virtual memory.
It can be set to a min. and max. values & even what drive you want it on.
The default is let windows set it, and it can be a hog if you don't have
much free disk space.

On win98 -
Settings/control panel/system/performance/virtual memory/let me specify.....
It is recommended that swap file be at min. same size as system RAM,
and if preferable that it be 2 1/2 times RAM. I have seen systems function
with swap set at 1/2 Ram.
Don't know how to get to other OS settings.
